The Soldiers Table Unveiled
Episode 3 finished on a dramatic pause and presented the first table of characters who will separate from the main group to embark on their own adventure, separate from the other two tables.
This warrior group features Teor (portrayed by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and Kattigan (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
Considering 13 cast members, it was evident from the start that keeping everyone at one table would be unfeasible.
Hence, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, connecting the personal journeys before dividing into three separate parties: Warriors, Strategists, and Questers.
What Defines the Combat Party
According to the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for participants who enjoy a classically intense combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where non-violent answers are scarce.
Upon first impression, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander might appear unsuited, but the events of episode 3 show why these specific adventurers are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
First, the group understands precisely where to proceed after a violent opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose death kicked off the narrative’s action—manipulated the enemy for his selfish purposes, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, attacking the rogue, and swiping all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
Casimir then cleared his liabilities and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, north of the city, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Personal Motivations
Additionally, each member has a specific drive to exit the metropolitan area:
- The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, seeks retribution.
- The adventurer has experience in the northern area and warns that it is a dangerous location.
- The warrior and The healer, having defied his house’s orders to eliminate the fighter and instead freed him, have no other options.
- But, their status as important members in the powerful family could help the team access places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, The fighter vowed a unbreakable promise to The savior for his rescue and will now follow him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are hunted by the powers that rule Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally too risky:
- The rogue and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and Wicander turned against the influential house and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
- The target is wanted dead by the family.
This leaves them no alternative but to head to the northern region in pursuit of the traitor.
